A spirited season finale that matches the energy of spring's first bloom.

What makes somewhere—or something—feel like HOME? Our spring concert plays with that question in many ways: home as a place; home as the people gathered around a table; home as memory and heritage; and even home as something we’re still searching for. The program includes R. Nathaniel Dett’s Chariot Jubilee, which draws upon Swing Low, Sweet Chariot, and Haitian-American composer Sydney Guillaume’s Taste of Freedom, a work that uses something wonderfully familiar—food—to explore immigration, culture, and the many traditions that become part of the American story. We’ll also return to music including Shenandoah, Stephen Paulus’ The Road Home, Homeward Bound, and an arrangement of The Highwomen’s Crowded Table, all reflecting in different ways on the idea that belonging is as much about people and experience as it is about a place.
