Richard Abel is a Junior at the University of Mary Washington and is pursuing a BA in English, with a concentration in Literary Studies. He has been performing with the chorale since 2011, and also serves as the President of the UMW chapter for Young Americans for Liberty.

Rebecca has no formal music training, other than piano lessons as a child (thanks, Mom!), and the privilege of excellent choral and musical theater experiences in high school and college. She’s sung with Masterworks Chorale in Blacksburg VA, Sweet Adelines (women’s barbershop), and sings in the choir at Wintergreen Music Festival in Wintergreen VA. She holds a Ph.D. in English Literature and taught English and Literature for many years at Southwestern College and Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. She’s currently a part-time project manager and trainer for a fundraising agency in Akron, Ohio, and enjoys painting, gardening, and other creative pursuits.

Maia Conrad joined CCF in 2018 after moving to Fredericksburg in 2017. She sang with the Williamsburg Choral Guild for ten years and has been in Jewish and secular choirs since she was a teenager. Maia has performed Jewish cantorial music since she was sixteen and has served as a cantor and tutor at Temple Beth El in Williamsburg, VA and as a lay leader and singer at Beth Sholom Temple in Fredericksburg, VA.

Jim Corrow is a retired business/technology consultant with a BA in Music Education from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, and an MBA in Technology Management from Metropolitan State University, St. Paul, MN. Prior to his 33 year career in business, Jim was a high school choral director in North Dakota and Minnesota. He has always been an avid participant in choral music and considers himself privileged to have sung under the direction of Paul Christiansen at Concordia College and Andrew Megill with the Masterwork Chorus of Morristown, NJ. A recent Virginia resident, he is very happy to have joined the Chamber Chorale of Fredericksburg.

Larry Crosswell has a BS in Pure Mathematics from the Florida State University and a MAT in Math Education from The Citadel. Previously he has sung under Dr. Andre Thomas at FSU and Dr. Robert Taylor with the Charleston (SC) Symphony Orchestra Chorus. He is the accompanist for Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Stafford. In his free time he teaches math at Mountain View High School. He is thankful for the support of his wife and children in all of his musical adventures.

A Fredericksburg native, Will has sung with the University Singers and Chamber Singers at the University of Virginia, the Marquand Chapel Choir of Yale University, and many church choirs. A graduate in conducting from UVA, Will led the Colonnade Ensemble, The Nineteen, and Synergy Wind Symphony before attending Yale Divinity School. Will was ordained a priest in the Episcopal Church in 2020 and serves St. George’s in downtown Fredericksburg as Associate Rector.

Melissa was an active musician and performer throughout DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Melissa has sung with the Bel Cantati Opera Chorus, Opera Camerata Chorus, Teatro Lirico, Stafford Opera Troupe, Southern Maryland Light Opera Company, and The Chesapeake Choral Arts Society. In 2019 she became the General Music and Chorus teacher at Arthur Middleton Elementary School. She holds a master’s degree in music from Temple University Boyer College of Music and Dance, a bachelor’s degree in music from Shenandoah Conservatory of Music where she received the Wind Ensemble Award in 2012, and she currently completed course work for certification in K-12 music education from Notre Dame of Maryland University where she received the honor of becoming a member of Kappa Delta Pi. She is thrilled to be a part of CCF and looks forward in sharing her love and appreciation of choral music with others who share the same passion. She resides in King George with her fiance, Norman, and their daughter, Willow.

Logan Fellenstein holds a MM in Choral Conducting from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Prior to her adventures in the deep south, Logan received her BA in Music from Bridgewater College. She is currently the director of the orchestra program at Drew Middle School in Stafford, VA. Logan is an avid follower of all things gymnastics and Olympics-related.

Shannon sang with CCF over 6 years ago and is excited to be joining the Chamber Chorale for this season. She has been the choral director at Massaponax HS since 2006. Shannon is originally from Pittsburgh (Go Steelers!). She holds a degree in Music Education from West Virginia University. Shannon loves spending time with her husband,James, and family, Brooke, Luke and Claire.

Danny grew up singing with the Maryland State Boychoir where he developed a love of singing and making music with others. He received his B.A. in Vocal Performance as well as his B.S. and Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech, where he sang with the VT Chamber Singers and the Voices of Appalachia. Now, he serves as an engineer for the Navy and is a resident of King George. He enjoys golf, reading, long walks with his pup, fulfilling his duties as horse show husband, and, of course, singing with the CCF!

Lisa Glenn Nobles is a King George transplant, originally from Birmingham, AL, but by way of Phoenix, AZ and Seattle, WA. Lisa studied voice as a non-major at Birmingham-Southern College, where she was a member of the Chamber Choir and sang as a section leader at First Methodist Church and Highlands United Methodist Church. Lisa owns LGN Collaborations, a business and nonprofit operations consulting firm, where she enjoys helping small companies get organized and run smoothly.

Hillary holds a BA in English from Bridgewater College, where she sang in the Bridgewater Chorale, Oratorio Choir and Concert Choir. She has participated in a variety of choral groups over the years, including madrigal and church choirs, while receiving private vocal training and piano lessons. Following college, she had the pleasure of singing in Choralis, under the direction of Gretchen Kuhrmann, in Falls Church, Virginia. Additionally, she enjoys being involved in ministry by leading worship.

John is a native of Stafford, VA, and graduated from Colonial Forge High School. He received his Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Florida. While there John won the Florida Regional NATS men’s Junior and Senior vocal competitions. John has performed various Opera roles including, The Grand PooBah from Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Mikado, Sharpless from Puccini’s Madame Butterfly, and Count Almaviva from Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro. As a guest soloist, John has performed in Dubois’ The Seven Last Words of Christ, Handle’s The Messiah, and Orff’s Carmina Burana. Currently, John is a Master Electrician who owns and operates Irby Electrical Solutions as well as teaches Electricity at the CTE department in Stafford High School.

Bonnie Johnson is a music teacher at Conway Elementary in Stafford County. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Music Education and Vocal Music Performance from Ithaca College. She earned a Master’s degree in Music Education, with a Kodaly Emphasis, from Capital University. Bonnie is originally from WI, but has lived in Fredericksburg for 16 years with her three amazing children Jamie, Christopher and Brody. She loves to be anywhere on the water, especially at Lake Gaston with her partner Dave and their dog Maggie.

Ruth Kochenour has been with the Chorale for over thirty years including many of those years serving on the board. She has retired from teaching music in the Spotsylvania Public Schools where she also served as Fine Arts Coordinator from 2001 to 2011. She received a BS in Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a Masters from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Doctorate in Education from Walden University.

Michael Lamendola is an elementary school music teacher in Spotsylvania County Public Schools. He received his Bachelor’s of Music and his MAT in Choral Music Education from Christopher Newport University. While at CNU, he served as Music Director for his a capella group, Expansion, and as President of the Omicron Nu chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Fraternity. He moved to Fredericksburg from Long Island, NY in July 2021 and is grateful to be a part of CCF!

Cheryl Mahoney received her BA in Piano Performance from the University of Kansas and her Masters of Music in Organ Performance from the University of Nebraska. Before joining the Chorale she sang with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus and the San Antonio Symphony Chorus.

A Virginia native, Amy Miller is a graduate of James Madison University, a former meeting planner, and current full-time mother to Ellett (’03), Owen (’05), and Grace (’08). In addition to singing with her husband, Dwayne, Amy enjoys her family, running, and travel.

Dwayne is originally from Baltimore and holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Ohio Wesleyan University, a M.M. in Choral Conducting from the University of Cincinnati, and an MBA from George Mason University. Having started as a middle school choir director in Fairfax County, he has spent the last 20 years working in consulting and sales related to intellectual property. He spends his “free time” as the Choir Director at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Stafford, enjoys singing with his wife, Amy, and spending time with their 3 kids.

A finance professional by day, Nathan works in association management. He earned his BA in Accountancy from Brigham Young University and his MBA from George Washington University. Nathan has played cello in community orchestras, including the Rappahannock Pops, and is a former cellist of the Amore String Quartet in southern Maryland. Nathan has been an active singer in church choirs and has sung in the Fredericksburg Community Chorus for the past 10 years. He and his wife Rachel have five children, all of whom sing and have played various musical instruments over the years.

Brad holds a BS Degree from Brigham Young University in Electrical and Computer Engineering and works for Lockheed Martin as a signal processing engineer. He was active in choirs and a cappella groups all through high school and college and sang in a professional a cappella group for several years before settling in Fredericksburg over 25 years ago. He has performed leading roles in numerous professional theater productions in the local area and enjoys composing and recording music in his spare time. He and his wife Marcia have 5 adult children and are now enjoying their empty nesting years. He is delighted to be singing with the CCF!

Autumn has been a member of the Chamber Chorale for several years and is so happy to have found her musical family here in Fredericksburg. She received her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Appalachian State University and her Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Shenandoah University. Over the years she has had the pleasure of participating in many excellent choral and opera ensembles as well as performing leading roles and solos in musical theater and opera productions. She has a wonderful husband, Daniel, and three ridiculously cute (no, she’s not biased!) children- Evan, Harper, and Colin- with whom she loves spending her free time.

Christine Rushmore is the Choral Director at T. Benton Gayle Middle School in Stafford, where she teaches 6th-8th grade choirs. She received her B.S. in Music Education from Duquesne University, where she sang with the Voices of Spirit. She moved to Fredericksburg during the summer of 2019 and is happy to be singing with the Chamber Chorale of Fredericksburg this year.

Stephen is the Learning Systems Engineer for Stafford County Public Schools. He is also a manager at Calypso Kennels and enjoys caring for pets while their humans are away. Stephen is a proud graduate of Virginia Tech and holds a B.A. in Music and an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction.

Karen moved to Fredericksburg in 2013 and was glad to find so many opportunities to sing. She learned to read music before she went to school – took piano and organ lessons for years, and always sang in church and school choirs. She took private voice lessons all the way through college and has sung in many community choruses in Connecticut and Pennsylvania. While living in Massachusetts she sang with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops.

Lauren holds a B.A. in Spanish as well as M.A.T in Spanish from Christopher Newport University. Currently, Lauren teaches Spanish I, III, and IV at Mountain View High School. While attending CNU, she sang Alto I and II with CNU’s premier chamber a cappella ensemble, CNU Voices. When Lauren is not teaching or singing, she enjoys both digital and film photography.

Ginger has been in choir most of her life! She holds a BS in Music Education- Vocal Emphasis and a MM in Choral Conducting from Texas A&M University- Commerce. She was an elementary music teacher for two years and a high school assistant choir director for four years before marrying an army officer and moving all over the world. She and her family have recently moved to the area from a three and a half year stay in Germany and currently she is a full-time stay at home mom to three lovely children Grace (‘19), Wyatt (‘20) and Liam (‘22).

Anna Carter holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from Lee University. Currently, Anna works as a freelance event planner for the Richmond to DC area. When not singing or planning events, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, traveling, and being a dog mom.

Jeremy Vaughn received a degree in music and historic preservation from the University of Mary Washington in 2008. He is currently the Associate Director of Alumni Programs within UMW’s Office of Alumni Relations. As a trained instrumentalist, he performs with numerous orchestras and wind ensembles in the Fredericksburg region, and serves as the substitute choral conductor at his church downtown. Jeremy has a wife, Adrienne, and a daughter, Penny.

Ken Wayne holds a bachelors degree in music education and taught high school choir for 13 years in both Illinois and Spotsylvania County. He is currently the drama teacher at Culpeper Middle School and is finishing his thesis for a masters degree in theatre directing from Roosevelt University. Ken also enjoys being active in community theatre and is a two-time recipient of the Virginia Theatre Association’s award for Best Performance.

Michele Wickman holds a B.S. in Mathematics Education and Minor in Music from the University of New Mexico, and an M.Ed in School Librarianship from Longwood University. She sang in the Chamber Chorale at Eastern New Mexico University and spent many years singing with Stafford Regional Choral Society and their outreach group, Sound Check, before joining CCF. Michele resides in Stafford with her children and their numerous pets, and she is the Librarian at North Stafford High School.
