The Chamber Chorale of Fredericksburg has been an important part of the community through the years. Memorable concerts include the annual Christmas Candlelight Concerts which were often performed at St George's, always full for both performances, the Olympic Torch Ceremony when the Torch was carried through Fredericksburg, the 10th Anniversary concert of all Virginian composers premiering two commissioned works, the 100 years of Broadway concert in collaboration with the Avery Ballet held at Dodd Auditorium and the performance in the Fredericksburg Festival of the Arts in 1996. From 'world music' to choral masterworks by Haydn, Mozart, Schubert, Vivaldi, Faure', and Respighi, this wonderful ensemble has adapted to various styles and met the challenges of the music. In fact the great joy of working with the Chamber Chorale for me was the level of musicianship and dedication that the singers had and the sheer love and joy of singing they expressed. - Reflections by Rebecca Tyree, former director of The Chamber Chorale of Fredericksburg, 1993-2003
The Chamber Chorale of Fredericksburg is a marvelous ensemble. Their programs are fresh, innovative, and wonderfully performed. The singers include some of the finest regional teachers who sing at a professional level. New music director Mary-Hannah Klontz conducts with joy, vitality, and a deep love of music. I highly recommend the concerts of this exceptional ensemble. - Craig Naylor, DMA, Associate Professor of Music Composition, Theory, Conducting at the University of Mary Washington
